 Simple Butter Chicken Recipe

This Butter Chicken recipe is one of the tastiest you will taste, with flavorful golden chicken chunks in a fantastic creamy curry sauce. With garlic butter rice and freshly cooked Naan bread, you'll adore how simple it is to prepare in the comfort of your own home.

  • 1 tbsp of olive oil
  • 1 tbsp of butter
  • 1 medium yellow onion diced
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger finely minced or grated (or use paste)
  • 2-3 cloves garlic finely minced or crushed
  • 1 ½ pound/  2-3 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into ¾-inch chunks
  • 4 tbsp tomato paste or 8 oz can of tomato sauce
  • 1 tbsp garam masala
  • 1 tsp of paprika, adjust to taste
  • 1 tsp Fenugreek,  use powder, but seeds or mustard seeds can be used too, optional*
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 cup heavy cream sub for half & half or yogurt for low fat
  • Cooked white rice and naan bread for serving


  • Heat a huge skillet or medium pot over medium-high intensity. Add the oil, spread, and onions, and cook onions down until daintily brilliant, around 3-4 minutes. Add ginger and garlic and let cook for 30 seconds, mixing so it doesn't consume.
  • Add the chicken, tomato glue, and flavors. Cook for 5-6 minutes or until everything is cooked through.
  • Add the weighty cream and stew for 8-10 minutes mixing sometimes. Serve over Basmati rice or with naan.
