What is a Bunt Cake?

Bundt cakes are not frequently linked to a particular recipe. In the 1950s and 1960s, after cookware maker Nordic Ware registered the name "Bundt" as a trademark and started making Bundt pans out of cast aluminum, the mold style became widely used in North America. The cakes were quite well-known thanks to Pillsbury's publicity. It's a cake that is baked in a Bundt pan, giving it the appearance of a unique doughnut, is known as a bundt cake (/bnt/).
